Row 1: empty, empty, empty, empty, empty. Row 2: A, B, empty, empty, empty. Row 3: empty, empty, empty, C, empty. Row 4: empty, empty, empty, empty, empty. Row 5: empty, empty, B, empty, A.
Use the arrow keys to slide the tiles. Neighbouring letters merge into the next letter up.
This board is a small demo of the game. It needs JavaScript to play.
Three rules.
A turn takes a second. Planning the next one takes longer.

Slide
Swipe in any direction and every tile slides as far as it can. After each move, a new small letter appears.

Merge
Tiles that touch and sit next to each other in the alphabet merge into the letter above the higher one. A and B make C. B and C make D. That is how you climb.

Vanish
Fill a whole row or column with one letter and the line vanishes. Matching letters don't merge, so clearing a line takes planning.

Two ways to play
Classic is a pure puzzle with no power-ups or undo. Survival adds both and unlocks at level 3.
